Councillor David Neve Elected Mayor of Tunbridge Wells


At the annual meeting of the Council on Wednesday 25 May, Councillor David Neve, was elected Mayor of Tunbridge Wells.

One of the longest serving members, having been first elected in 1987, Cllr Neve is Liberal Democrat member for the St James’ ward. Now retired, Councillor Neve was a teacher in Tunbridge Wells and Bromley. Mrs Jill Neve, Councillor Neve’s wife will accompany him as Mayoress during his term of office.

During their year of office the Mayor usually supports a charity. Councillor Neve has chosen Beat, the UK’s eating disorder charity. With around 725,000 people diagnosed across the UK, Beat supports anyone with an eating disorder, their friends and family, as well as professionals working with or worried about an individual in their care.
