Lib Dems tackle Anti-Social Behavior in Rusthall5.09.14pm GMT Sat 13th Mar 2004
Rusthall Councillor Bob Wratten reports: "I have held a number of surgeries for residents in recent months at our local Library on the first Saturday of each month. The Community Police Officer, PC Miles Booth, attended two of them to answer questions. Many residents said they were concerned about the fear of crime in the village, and felt that the police needed to deploy more resources in Rusthall, as they were of the opinion that PC Miles Booth had too large an area to cover. I raised this issue at a recent meeting, in the Town Hall, on 'Anti-Social Behaviour' with the Community Crime Co-ordinator, Inspector Wilshaw, and I am pleased to advise that Kent County Constabulary has now agreed to appoint a Police Support Officer for the area that includes Rusthall. A partnership scheme, involving all the local agencies (such as the Police, High Weald Housing and the Borough Council) has also been set up with the objective of reducing anti-social behaviour."
