Liberal Democrats spent £200,000 each year on the maintenance of pavements in Royal Tunbridge Wells. The quality of pavements in the St James' area continues to worsen, yet the Tories reduced expenditure to £60,000 last year - and there was no reference to it in the first draft of the 2004-5 capital programme.Your local Liberal Democrat Councillors are on the case!!

We have demanded that expenditure on pavements be identified separately, increased to £100,000 per annum and the sums ring-fenced so that the Tories cannot spend the money on any of their other pet projects that will not benefit the residents of St James.
