Following a strong campaign, Tom Symondson is the new Tunbridge Wells Borough Councillor for Pembury Ward. The Liberal Democrats now hold two out of the three Pembury seats.

Speaking after the announcement of the result on 30th June, Tom thanked the electorate for having the courage to support him despite his age and the fact that he was an "unknown quantity" in local politics.

"I am pleased that so many people came out to vote so soon after May 5th" he added. "With such a strong result, I feel I have the support of the village".
