Vandalism is getting out of hand according to Alan Bullion

Lib Dem party chairman Alan Bullion was pleased to attend a recent cross-party meeting at the High Brooms Working Mens' Club. At the packed meeting, residents from Sherwood and High Brooms told of growing problems of anti-social behaviour affecting people from all walks of life in the area.

Some residents said they were frightened to go out not only during the evening but at any time of the day. Several local muggings have also been reported.

"Anti-social behaviour on our streets, ranging from smashing bottles to graffiti to threatening neighbours should not be tolerated," said Alan Bullion. "I welcome moves to step up police patrols, as well as giving the youngsters more to do, such as boxing clubs, as on Showfields, and other sports facilities."

"Another place that needs closer monitoring is High Brooms railway station, which is virtually unmanned for most evenings and weekends. It is about time the rail companies did something about improving passenger safety, and fast," said Bullion.
