Local Lib Dem campaigner Alan Bullion was astonished to read in a local paper that Tory Councillors are complaining about the state of local roads and pavements.

"The Tories control Kent and Tunbridge Wells Councils, and have done for the last ten years - it's their fault that the roads are in such a terrible state" said Alan. "Now they are trying to fool everyone by complaining about the potholes and cracked pavements that they ignore when there isn't an election on!"

"I do not believe local people are fooled by the Tories' crocodile tears" said Cllr Lesley Herriot. "Why is it that they pretend to be doing something in the month before an election and then we don't see them again for four years? Lib Dems will still be fighting for better roads when the elections are over!"
