Chris says its time for change in Tunbridge Wells

Chris Skelton is the Lib Dem candidate for Tunbridge Wells South at the forthcoming County Council elections on June 4th.

Chris's priorities are as follows:-

WASTE

1. Stop wasting public money on self-promotion - £6.5 million - the third highest spending Local Authority in England.

2. Stop spending money on Kent TV - make it survive on advertising

3. The CEO of KCC is paid more than any other County Chief in Britain - £250,000 p.a. - more than the Prime Minister. Is this sensible?

POTHOLES

4. At the current rate of spending by the Conservative Council, it will take 226 years to fix Kentʼs foot-ways and that repairs to gullies and associated drainage connections would take over 300 years.

A GREENER KENT

5. The Lib Dems oppose the use of dirty coal technology at Kingsnorth power station

6. The Lib Dems favour plastic recycling facilities at all KCC sites

BETTER LOCAL SERVICES

7. We shall review the provision for Looked After Children

8. Local School Places for Local Children

9. Locals Services for Young People

SAFER STREETS

10. We shall work with the Police to tackle crime

11. Introduce ʻNo Cold Callingʼ control zones where door to door sales are discouraged

12. Cancel Conservative plans to turn off street lights and make the saving by using lower energy bulbs instead. Criminals welcome unlit streets

SAFER ROADS

13.The Lib Dems will put in place a long term programme of funding which will return our roads, drains and pavements to good repair.
