Jackie Prance

Jackie is proud of the Lib Dem achievements

For four years (2003-2007) the Liberal Democrats controlled Southborough Town Council which has responsibility for areas and facilities in Southborough and High Brooms such as the Common, the playing fields, the children's playgrounds, the allotments, the Royal Victoria Hall and the Crundwell Road Community Centre.

Some of our achievements in this period included:

Crundwell Community Centre - Provision of full disabled access and accessible toilet facilities. Outside funding was secured for a new energy efficient heating system to be installed.

Ridgewaye and Yew Tree Road Allotments - The old fencing was completely replaced. There was a big push to clear derelict sites and get them in use.

Holden Pond and the Common - The pond had a major overhaul with desilting and fish conservation. The paths and fishing platforms were renewed.

Play Areas - Plans for new equipment in the Crundwell Road children's play area were drawn up and funded. Plans for a ball games area in Crundwell Road were produced after a full consultation. The ball games area was not progressed by the current conservative Council.

Council Tax - During our four years in office the Council Tax in Southborough was kept lower than that of Tunbridge Wells whilst improving services. Two outstanding loans were paid off early.

The Liberal Democrats support:-

Enhancements to our Play Areas.

The Town Centre Redevelopment with its provision of a new library, Council offices and other community facilities in the 'Hub' together with a new town square, medium sized supermarket.

Improved recreational facilities must be part of any scheme.

The football initiative with its plans for a new football pavilion to replace the existing facilities.

Jackie Prance is the Lib Dem candidate for Southborough North in the forthcoming Town Council by-election on June 4th

Please support Jackie and vote Liberal Democrat
